SILSDEN RIDING CLUB SHOW SCHEDULE – 2012

All classes £3 Members and £5 Non–Members Except Sash Show which is £4 and £6 respectively. Plus a £2 donation to first aid per rider / handler. Rosettes to 4th Place.

RING 1 – JUMPING to commence at 10.00am PROMPT

Correct dress and head wear must be worn at all times. Junior riders must wear body protectors at all times in all jumping classes – points or non points (see rule 3).

Clear round Pony/Rider any age. Over a short course. Not a points class. All clears receive a rosette. Entries at ringside – Entry £2.00   From 9.30/10am

CLASS

  1. Novice Pony cannot enter an open class. Starts 10am. 2’6" (75cm) max in first round.          

  2.  Pony not Exceeding 138cm. Rider to be 14 years and under. 2’9” (85cm) max in first round. (Entrants cannot enter class 3).

  3. Pony Exceeding 138cm not exceeding 148cm. Rider to be 16 years and under. 3’ (90cm) max in first round.

  4. Open Pony not Exceeding 148cm. Rider to be 16 years and under. 3’ 3" (1m) max in first round.

  5. Clear Round Jumping

  6. Open pairs – Horse/Pony. Pairs must remain the same for the season to gain points. 2’9” (85cm) max in first round.

  7. Novice Horse. Not to have won more than £25 cannot enter open class. 2’9” (85cm) max in first round.

  8. Intermediate Horse. 3’ (90cm) max in first round.

  9. Open Horse. 3’6” (1.10m) max in first round.



RING 2 – SHOWING – RIDDEN to commence at 9.30 prompt

Correct dress and head wear must be worn at all times (see rule 3).

CLASS

  1. Tack and Turnout. Any size horse or pony.

  2. Lead Rein. ponies not exceeding 128cm, lead rein attached to noseband, riders 8 years and under, handlers minimum 14 years. Entrants cannot enter class 11.

  3. First Ridden. ponies not exceeding 138cm, riders 12 years and under, canter optional. Snaffle bridle only. Entrants cannot enter class 10.

  4. Novice Showing. Any height horse/pony not to have won a 1st.

  5. Open Showing. Any height.

  6. Ridden Foreign Breeds. (pure or part bred) excluding Arabs and Thoroughbreds.

  7. Riding Horse/Hack & Cob exceeding 148cm. Entrants cannot enter class 18 

  8. Ridden Show Hunter Pony. Not exceeding 153cm not including lead
    rein, large entries may be split.

LUNCH

  1. Ridden Arabs and Thoroughbreds. Full or part bred, any height.

  2. Ridden Hunter. Horses exceeding 148cm. Entrants cannot enter class 15.

  3. Ridden Mountain and Moorland. Full or part bred NO lead rein. Pure breds to be shown in natural state.

  4. Mountain and Moorland Lead Rein, First Ridden As class 10 and 11. L/R 122cm and under; F/R 128cm and under to qualify.

  5. Ridden Veteran. Horse/pony 15 years and over.

  6. Ridden Coloured – Piebald, Skewbald, Spotted, Roans, Duns etc. Any height.


RING 3 – EQUITATION to commence at 9.30am prompt

Correct dress and head wear must be worn at all times (see rule 3). Snaffle bridles only. No spurs.

CLASS

  1. Open Style & Performance. This is a freestyle show containing required elements with no marks for conformation. To be judged: 40% turnout of horse/pony and rider, 60% performance in the show. Show must include the following movements: Halt, walk on a long rein, trot serpentine showing some lengthened strides, canter figure of eight extended canter on diagonal. Riders must not execute the required movements more than once. The show should be short and flowing. No Lead Rein Competitors.

  2. Open Equitation. Riders any age.

  3. Lead Rein Equitation. ponies not ex 128cm, lead rein attached to noseband, riders 8 years and under, handlers minimum 14 years. Entrants cannot enter class 26

  4. First Ridden Equitation ponies not ex 138cm, riders 10 years and under, canter optional. Snaffle bridles only. Entrants cannot enter class 25.

  5. Novice Equitation. Riders any age. Not to have won a 1st.

  6. Riding Club Pony. not exceeding 148cm. To include a small jump. Junior members must wear body protectors

  7. Riding Club Horse. To include a small jump. Junior members must wear body protectors

  8. ‘Have a go at showing for genuine beginners’. Now you don’t have
    to have all the gear to get the idea. Requirements: A hat that fits and is
    up to current standard and suitable footwear. (Dress code relaxed).
    Riders can compete in this class all season.

LUNCH


RING 4 – SHOWING IN HAND to commence at 9.30am prompt

Correct dress and head wear must be worn at all times (see rule 3).

CLASS

  1. Foreign Breeds. (pure or part bred) excluding Arabs and Throroughbreds.

  2. Youngstock (3 years and under). Colts must be kept under proper control, handled by an
    adult/minimum 14 years and boxed directly after class.

  3. Condition in Hand. Any height.

  4. Mountain and Moorland. Large and Small.

  5. Arabs and Thoroughbreds – Full or part bred.

  6. Coloured – Horse / Pony – Piebald, Skewbald, spotted, Roans,
    palominos, duns etc. Any height.

LUNCH

  1. Young Handler – 14 years and under (no colts).

  2. Senior Handler – 15 years and over.

  3. Veteran Horse/Pony – 15 years and over.

  4. Novelty, non points

RING 5 – WORKING HUNTER

Correct dress and head wear must be worn at all times. Junior riders must wear body protectors at all times in all jumping classes – points or non points (see rule 3).

Clear Round Working Hunter – Horse/Pony – Rider any age
Over a short course ~ Not a points class ~ All clears receive a rosette
From 10am to 11.30pm ~ Entries at ringside ~ Entry £2.00

Working Hunter Classes Minimum of 4 fences to be jumped. Judged on:
Phase 1 50% Jumping, 10% style and manners.
Phase 2 30% conformation, type and freedom of action and 10% manners.

Novice working Hunter Classes
Horse/Pony and Rider combination never to have won 1st prize / rosette in any WH / WHP class prior to 1st January of the competing year in question.

ALL CLASSES TO JUMP IN HEIGHT ORDER – To commence at 12.00 noon.

  1. Novice Working Hunter Horse. Exceeding 153cm. 2’6” (75cm) min

  2. Open Working Hunter Horse. Exceeding 153cm. 3’ (90cm) min.

  3. Novice Working Hunter Pony. Not Exceeding 153cm. 2’32 (70cm) min

  4. Working Hunter Mountain & Moorland. Small 2’ (65cm) min. Large 2’6” (75cm) min.

  5. Open Working Hunter Pony. Not Exceeding 153cm. 2’9 (85cm) min.
