SILSDEN RIDING CLUB, OUR CONSTITUTION
Silsden Riding Club ConstitutionSilsden Riding Club acknowledge, support and put in place guidance given by the following equestrian sporting bodies, BHS – BSJA – BSPA. The three main governing bodies in UK showing set out clear rules and regulations for all competitors to adhere to whether they are at riding club or international competitions. The club suggest all competitors familiarise themselves with current rules and regulations including Health and Safety. A copy of the clubs showing rules can be found in the current schedule. Silsden Riding Club’s main aim is to promote equestrianism at a local level that will appeal to all abilities of handler, rider, pony or horse combinations for members or non-members alike. Members and non-members have the same opportunities and will be treated equally according to equal rights policies. Undue discrimination will not be tolerated on any ethical or moral grounds whilst competing at any Silsden Riding Club event. Independent judges are appointed for each of the summer shows, qualified judges act in good faith on behalf of our club and make judgments without prejudice in the spirit of competition to the best of their ability in each showing discipline. Silsden Riding Club recognises advanced competitors want to compete at a more advanced level such as county and national levels so the club affiliates to various regional and national finals. Every competitor has the opportunity to qualify for these competitions at our summer shows by winning the respective class. The winter Festival of Champions held at Aintree racecourse is open to members who gain the most points awarded in each show during the current showing season. If the overall class winner cannot represent the club then the second, third or fourth placed winner will be invited to do so.
